OSTEOPATHY
Manual osteopathy is a hands-on therapeutic approach focused on identifying and treating restrictions in the musculoskeletal, digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, and nervous systems through gentle manual manipulation techniques. It emphasizes the body's natural ability to heal itself and aims to improve function by addressing structural imbalances, enhancing circulation, and reducing pain.
The founder of Osteopathy, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still (b. 1828), was one of the first physicians to promote the idea of preventive medicine and the philosophy that physicians should focus on treating the disease rather than just the symptoms. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners use their hands to provide a gentle and specific application of highly developed touch, Osteopathic palpation, that treats the body as a whole in order to restore function to the musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, reproductive and nervous systems.
The basic principles of Osteopathy maintain that all body parts are interconnected, that proper functioning in one part of the body is dependent on the normal functioning in other parts of the body and that with proper guidance the body has the natural ability to heal itself.

Kathy is both very competent and confident in her work as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. She does not shy away from a challenge and is motivated to do things well. Kathy has treated me for various issues over the years and I have always marvelled at the effectiveness of her treatments despite the subtlety of her osteopathic manipulations. Particularly notable for me was the immediate success of her treatments in regulating my menstrual periods and reducing menstrual pain (after trying supplements and acupuncture without success). Another much-appreciated impact of her treatments was a resetting of my parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in reduced anxiety and better sleep.

For over two years I had issues with numbness and pain around my ears which made sleeping uncomfortable and difficult most nights. Other professionals tried to resolve the problem but only Kathy's hands bought me permanent relief. More recently another medical issue required her attention and once again her magic hands worked wonders. I always leave her office feeling so much better and most importantly her treatments are long lasting. Always a positive experience.

Kathy Masko has treated myself and my children for years. She is our favourite practitioner and is incredibly gifted and talented. She has a gentle and effective approach for adjustments. She helped me through pregnancy, she’s treated my children through the years with many alignment issues, and after big falls. Where western medicine said they were fine, Kathy understood they were not and fixed the issue. She’s intuitive and has been able to tell me cause and effect issues about the children. For instance, my daughter’s alignment in her skull was off and Kathy asked if she had been having tantrums, and she had been, which was unusual for my daughter. Her tolerance was affected by the alignment of her skull. Another example of exemplary care was during a treatment for my son, after assessing him Kathy asked if he had a big fall recently. I remembered he had fallen out of the tree house. When he fell we took him to the hospital where the Doctor said he was fine. Kathy could tell where the impact of the fall was, where there was trauma from it and treated him so he felt better. She is absolutely amazing! We are incredibly sad to lose her. I have referred many friends and family to see Kathy, I cannot say enough positive things about her, she is magical. Karly S
The first time I saw Kathy was for my newborn son who was having nursing difficulties. She worked wonders on him in one visit, while he slept. She was incredible. So much so that I booked an appointment for myself to address an alignment issue with my hips. It was amazing to see how at the beginning of the appointment my hips were misaligned and by the end, they were sitting level. She is so gentle when adjusting and incredibly knowledgeable. She has also seen my other two children and my husband, for whom she is solely responsible for him avoiding neurosurgery. I can't say enough about how amazing Kathy is and how much we will miss her!
